dr5 - A B&W reversal process; more unique than SCALA because it reverse-processes most ALL the B&W films, not just the one film. What is dr5? How do we do what we do?  The dr5 process has several unorthodox procedures and approaches to processing that go against many traditionalist way of procedure, formula and recipe. We take a maverick approach to procedure and process. This makes what we do unique in the industry putting to rest the nay-sayers by example and output.

 dr5 - a reversal B&W process

   The technique of reversing B&W photographic material and direct-positive, has had many uses over the past 100 years. Recently, before the computer age most professionals were asked to shoot positives because it was the best film for the graphic process and magazines preferred it. Unless you were a processing GURU, positive B&W wasn't commercially available until SCALA in 1996. After 9/11 Digital had fully taken hold. dr5 was a new processing system when created in 1990 - but was offered as a service in 1997. (above photo: 645/HP5/anamorphic  ©drwood)

dr5 PROCESSING: The dr5 process is a custom designed from scratch reversal B&W process for almost all existing B&W films, including the remaining SCALA film and ADOX-SCALA160. No other lab knows reversal B&W processing better than us. dr5 is more than just a process.
